CROM CRUACH
As mentioned in The Invisibles, I myself first came across this ancient Celtic/Irish God during the Nineteen Eighties while enjoying the comic book Slaine.
The name means, ‘bloody (or gory) bent one,’ Crom-Cruach is reputed to have been worshipped via the awful practice of human sacrifice.
MATERIAL WORLD/IMMATERIAL WORLD
The differences between the Material and Immaterial are themes within the comic book Promethea.
The Material World is of course our very own reality, the World in which we consciously exist. It’s rather dull and very cruel. Enough about such a place.
The Immaterial World is of course, as mentioned before, the World of imagination, of dreams, In Promethea this World is the Immateria, everything we can possibly imagine exists in the Immateria, especially myths and legends, fairy tales and fictions. It’s a far more interesting World than the so called real. In my very humble opinion at least.
It is in the Immaterial World that God and Jesus exist, Satan and Lucifer, as of course so does Superman and Batman, Spiderman and The Hulk. The Immaterial World is just as real as the Material, though some might find that difficult to believe, or understand.
CHRIST, BUDDHA AND MOHAMMED
In Magick such, supposedly historical characters, are mentioned, due to the fact they are important figures in human history, as is mentioned these supposedly historical people had entire gaps in their lives, in which when they reappear in their stories they have mystical powers or new religions to afford the masses.
It is of my opinion that these people are merely fictional, and have, nor had, real physical presences within the Material World, these people are examples of how fictional people can be so influential in the real World, or at least how easily we the peoples of Earth will believe in fictions, so strongly in fact that they are prepared to kill or die for such fictional concepts, which seems insane, but they have influenced civilisation, for a long time, too long. Perhaps.
POP MAGIC
As referred to by Grant Morrison, here for example: http://www.scribd.com/doc/24506/Pop-Magic-by-Grant-Morrison in one section explains how a Magician should pay to intention of all things surrounding a Magician, especially when wandering around the Material World, find Magick everywhere in everything.
I myself forgot earlier when walking the Dobermann, but I shall remember tomorrow when I wander the sad streets of the Material World.
