DRAGON LINES
Mentioned by Tom O Bedlam in The Invisibles, are more commonly known as Ley Lines. Apparently, whether true or not, ley lines are alignments between various ancient monuments and natural features of the landscape, obviously a link between such things are easily discovered, we humans have a talent for seeing links, or structures, in nature, or space, an example of this is our ability to see faces in nature, Jesus in a puddle, Mohammed in a tomato, or the famous Face on Mars.
Back in the Eighties during my time embracing the brilliance of the weekly British comic book 2000 AD one of my favourite comic book characters was the Celtic warrior Slaine, dragon lines featured regularly within this fiction, being used by various characters too summon power, to use as weapons, to fuel ships, it’s a good read, is Slaine, and I do recommend the comic book to anyone.

FAERIES
In Promethea, in the Immateria the title character meets faerie type creatures.
Faeries are a mythical being, they have no existence outside of the imagination, at least so I believe. They are generally believed to be human in appearance, but possess magickal powers, in folklore they are often described as being dead or turn out to be some kind of demonic entity. Their physical existence was regarded as fact, back in possibly more primitive times, if that’s a fair description of previous centuries, in fact in 1691 a Reverend Robert Kirk wrote in his manuscript, The Secret Commonwealth of Elves, Fauns and Fairies that these creatures; ‘These Siths or Fairies they call Sleagh Maith or the Good People...are said to be of middle nature between Man and Angel, as were Daemons thought to be of old; of intelligent fluidous Spirits, and light changeable bodies (lyke those called Astral) somewhat of the nature of a condensed cloud, and best seen in twilight. These bodies be so pliable through the sublety of Spirits that agitate them, that they can make them appear or disappear at pleasure.’

SATAN
Magick has mention of this creature of Hell, this Lord of Evil, but what are his origins?
Satan, in one type of form is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible, is ‘The Satan’ a kind of prosecutor who works directly for God, YHVH (Yahweh) he has no independent duties beyond those given to him by The Lord.
The common interpretation of Satan can be found in The Book of Enoch, which deals with Fallen Angels, also known as Grigorii or Watchers, one of these Watchers was named Satanael, he was a Prince among the Grigorii but was cast out of Heaven for his sins.
In Christian belief, were we receive our understanding of Satan from, the creature is The Devil, once the angel most revered amongst the angelic host, the highest of all angels, until he rebelled against God, for unknown reasons, and was cast out.
In the Islamic faith Satan is Shaitan, or originally Iblis, he was an angel who possessed free will and while all the other Angels were commanded by Allah (God, YHVH, Yahweh) to bow down before Adam, he Iblis chose not to, and for this he was cast out of Heaven, becoming The Adversary.
In the book A Dictionary of Angels it says of Satan that he was; ‘a great angel, chief of the seraphim, head of the order of virtues. While the seraphim were pictured as six winged Satan was shown as twelve winged.’ It later goes on to say; ‘Through a misreading of Isaiah 14:12, he has been identified with Lucifer.’ In time it is believed Satan will be reinstated in Heaven in his pristine and splendour and original rank.
Other names for Satan, according to A Dictionary of Angels, are, Beliel, Azazel and Sammael, though there are other names.
MAGICKAL PRACTICE
I only managed four minutes of meditation this morning, which is pathetic but hopefully at the end of the day a greater duration will be attained.
