Now I know Kryptonians are fictional beings like Moses, Jesus and Mohammed and naturally enough all Gods, Goddesses and other such creatures, no more real than angels, I know this, however the question arises due to the fact that in the Winter months my energy levels, and cheery demeanour, severely suffer, yesterday morning being the lowest point in my life since… well, some time, there was no rhyme nor reason for my low ebb, and I did recover late in the morning, this morning I was my normal chipper, run the London Marathon, self.
Moments ago I saw light from the Sun shining through a window, I quickly ran and bathed in the Winter sun, soaking up the yellow rays, the thought occurred to me I might be an alien, probably Kryptonian, requiring sunlight for my energy needs.
Now I know this sounds far fetched, I know how it sounds, and if I’m not Kryptonian then I am sure I am some kind of alien lifeform, it’s the only explanation, I cannot think of another explanation that answers why I have such disinterest in my fellow Earthlings, why I find my fellows so disturbing, so disgusting, why I actually wish for the World, this World, to end.
If I’m not a Kryptonian, not an alien, then I surely am some kind of unusual human, outsider Earthling, how many other Earthlings find their own kind so repulsive? Are there many people like me out there that would celebrate the end of humanity? I always like to imagine most other humans love being human, and would be fiercely proud of being an Earthling, like those dreadful EDL types are about being English, would most Earthlings feel hatred and prejudice for people from Mars? I’d love to see an alien species land here on Earth and find us humans so primitive and repugnant, would humans, en masse, wish to cause them violence?
Yesterday evening I read Superman: War of the Supermen, it was poorly written, but devastating in its depiction of humanity wiping out a World of Kryptonians, murdering almost eighty thousand of the aliens, it was shocking, Superman’s response was appallingly bad, his reaction to the death of thousands of his own race totally unresponsive, it was a disappointing end to the entire New Krypton storyline. But that would be humanity’s reaction to an alien species wouldn’t it? To murder them. Humans are not a pleasant creature, I would sooner be Kryptonian, it’s just a shame I’m a Kryptonian without Superman type powers, Rao damn me!
